Christine Sykes
A meeting was arranged with Christine Sykes, Care Home Manager of The White House, to discuss her company’s training and development needs. Christine’s initial reason for agreeing to the meeting was because she felt Business Advice Direct could offer the required training in a more time effective manner and she was interested to see how e-learning could support and deliver her training requirements. Around the start of the year in 2005 Business Advice Direct met with Nicola Marshall, the Learning and Development manager for Lincoln Social Services, following a telephone contact during which IT training was discussed. Business Advice Direct was telemarketing an IT workshop promotion at that time.Nicola met with one of Business Advice Direct’s Training Advisers and explained that her staff used Microsoft Word and Excel in their every day jobs, but it had been identified that some staff were only able to use the programmes when working from templates; some had limited knowledge, whilst others could find their way around but had gaps in their knowledge/ability. Anna Baldwin
Anna Baldwin has worked for Peacemills Care Home for a total of 6 years. She started with the company as a Care Worker. She enjoys her job and has strived to ‘work her way up the ladder’. Last year Anna’s Manager gave her the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities within the Care Home as the first step towards becoming Deputy Manager. (more…)

Sue Hopwell
Sue Hopwell has worked for Springfield care home for the past 14 years, and in that time Sue has progressed from carer to promotion to Assistant Deputy Manager.Sue’s first contact with Business Advice Direct was by way of their telesales team calling to ask if she would meet to discuss training needs.
