Three new tutors have been appointed to work at the learndirect centres run by Business Advice Direct (BAD) at Stockport, Ashton and Northern Moor.
Dave Owen, who has recently moved to the Manchester area from Yorkshire, is a former sixth form college tutor and he will now work mainly at the Ashton and Northern Moor centres.
Andrew Berry, from New Mills, is starting his career with his first job as a tutor at Stockport and Ruth Bellord, who will also be based at Stockport, is returning to employment following a year out of work.
BAD has won the contract to deliver 12 learndirect centres across the country and nearly 1,500 learners have already benefited so far this year. BAD also delivers other e-learning solutions, Level 2 NVQ qualifications and traditional training courses.
learndirect centres are funded by the Government via the University for Industry (UFI) and have to achieve strict Key Performance Indicators to ensure they provide a good standard of training.
Fiona Wright, Head of Funded Learning for BAD, said she was delighted to welcome the new members of staff.
“We are having great success at Stockport, Ashton and Northern Moor in delivering training to local people who are looking to retrain or update their skills,” she said. “I am sure our new members of staff with help us to further our success and enable us to provide even more high quality training that learners have come to expect.”
