Worcester’s learndirect centre, which is delivered by Business Advice Direct, was recognised as an innovative centre with outstanding staff at the West Midlands regional finals of the prestigious learndirect Achievement Awards on Wednesday (27th June).
The centre at County House, St. Mary’s Road, was nominated in two categories – Most Innovative learndirect Centre Award and the learndirect Staff Award for staff and tutors who provide outstanding customer care and/or tutor support for their learners – and received a Highly Commended certificate in both.
Tutor Nicky Wells was delighted to receive her certificate for her outstanding work with learners at the BAD Worcester Centre.
“I love working for BAD because it gives me the opportunity to help people,” she said, “and I get a tremendous buzz when learners achieve their goals and go on to find great jobs.”
Head of Funded Learning at BAD, Fiona Wright, commented: “I am delighted that Nicky has been recognised for her work at the Centre where she is a committed and dedicated member of staff who really cares about her learners.”
She added: “I am also proud of the achievement of the Centre as a whole. In the Most Innovative Centre category Worcester was one of only two nominees out of 102 centres in the West Midlands region. Our success proves that BAD is on the right track and performing well and this is down to the efforts of our tremendous staff.”
The award ceremony, hosted by Nikki Tapper from BBC Radio WM, was held at the Showcase Cinema in Birmingham.
