Swans dive into learning at Lincoln

Flooding in Lincolnshire has closed the local learndirect centre which is delivered by Business Advice Direct (BAD).
The centre is based in Oak House at Waterside South and has been closed since Monday after two rivers - the River Witham which runs 20 feet from the front of the building and a further river which is behind the building – both burst their banks.
Staff from BAD Lincoln have been unable to get into work but tutor Dave Grasham made the journey down to discover the worst and found emergency services still hard at work pumping water out of the area.
“The whole area looks like one big pool and our local swans are swimming past the door to the centre and into the car park, “he said.
Head of Funded Learning at BAD, Fiona Wright, said: “We have had difficulties at Sheffield and Lincoln but Lincoln centre is the only one that we have been forced to close temporarily because of the bad weather. I apologise to our learners and hope they will be patient while this situation continues. We will be re-opening the centre as soon as possible.”
