Stress-free training

Posted on March 12th, 2008

SamTwo teenage children, crazy cats and an even madder dog would keep most mums busy enough, but Sam Cave from Clay Cross near Chesterfield has joined Derby’s learndirect centre as a tutor - and still finds time to study for a university diploma!

Her ability to cope can probably be put down to her routine of practicing meditation, which she says has resulted in ‘a stress-free me’!

Sam will join established tutor Tony Goodman at the thriving Derby centre’s new venue at St. Peter’s House, Gower Street, which is provided by Derbyshire-based Business Advice Direct, one of the most successful learndirect centre providers in the country.

Formerly a Health & Social Care Trainer, Sam, who has a teenage son and daughter, is just about to complete the first year of a Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong learning sector – and she’s a self-confessed cat lover!

‘My cats are fantastic!’ she said. ‘One is a 14 year old recovering agoraphobic, the other is a crazy one-eyed pirate cat, my dog is completely bonkers and my house is like Piccadilly Circus most of the time! My son plays football, so my weekends are taken up by supporting him and screaming at the ref!’

Currently training at BAD learndirect centres in Lincoln and Sheffield, Sam will start at Derby on 24th March.

‘I am delighted to welcome Sam on board and look forward to working with her,’ said Tony. ‘With her caring credentials I am sure she will be perfect for the job and fit in very well.’

BAD Head of Funded Learning Fiona Wright welcomed Sam to the BAD family and added: ‘We are delighted that Sam is joining the ranks of our outstanding staff.’
