Leicester mum Susan O’Driscoll was encouraged by her employer to study for an NVQ – and is now basking in the joys of gaining extra qualifications.
‘Every qualification you get really gives you a boost. It’s good for you and gives you more confidence,’ she said.
Susan, who works as Practice Manager and Dental Nurse at Kibworth Dental Practice in Leicester, said her boss, dentist Raj Pancholi, suggested that she take the qualification because he was sure she would do well.
‘He felt I was good with the patients and said it would be another feather in my cap!’ she explained.
Susan, who lives at Oadby and is married with two children, studied at Business Advice Direct in Leicester and is delighted to have gained the NVQ.
‘It has really helped me at work and made me more confident,’ she said. ‘The assessor Claire Brelsford noticed how I had improved and said I treated the patients with great respect, professionalism and patience.’
And Susan was delighted with the support she received from Claire.
‘She was brilliant – very professional and very approachable as well,’ said Susan.
Raj is also pleased with the outcome of Susan’s training.
‘We have found that the new knowledge Susan has learned has been fantastic for our practice,’ she said. ‘She put it into use straight away by creating a practice newsletter, brochure and website – and she has passed on the information she has learned to the other team members. I could not be happier with the outcome.’
