Food Hygiene
We are offering a Level 2 Food Safety course which is ideal for demonstrating that staff have received the mandatory minimum training.Ideal for anyone requiring food safety training in small or large businesses; or those looking to work in the food industry.This online course is free of charge to any employee who undertakes this as part of a Literacy package designed to provide individuals with an opportunity to gain a National Certificate in Adult Literacy. The course can be undertaken at our IT suite as a workshop subject to minimum number of delegates.We provide a computer based learning programme using course materials which have been certificated by the Royal Institute of Public Health (RIPH).The course has an introduction, five modules and an assessment. Upon successful completion of the assessment you will receive a certificate to show you have completed the course. The introduction module significantly enables you to work hygienically with only a few minutes training. The remainder of the course expands and reinforces your food safety skills and includes an explanation of the food safety scheme HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points)
- Module 1: Food Handling:
- Personal hygiene, washing hands, illness, cross contamination, raw and cooked food, chopping boards.
- Module 2: Food Poisoning:
- Bacteria, bacteriology, high risk foods, symptoms of food poisoning, toxins, microbiology.
- Module 3: Food Control:
- Allergens, HACCP, Delivery of food, storage conditions, dry foods, temperature control, danger temperatures, freezing, reheating.
- Module 4: Cleaning & Waste:
- Cleaning fluids, protective clothing, waste management, pests.
- Module 5: Complaints & Law:
- Complaint procedures, legal consequences, fines, food poisoning complaints.
