Why should you improve?
There’s no doubt about it, the world of computers and technology is moving at a fast pace. Fifteen years ago, the word ‘computer’ meant a desktop PC; now there are laptops, notebooks, iPads and blackberries to choose from. All your friends are on Facebook, you can watch telly on the internet and you need to be able to use a computer in most jobs.
The good news is that we can help you develop strong IT skills: the kind employers value. Last year we helped 208 learners achieve their ECDL Essentials Award, with a further 647 gaining the ECDL Extra Award.
On these courses, we show you how to browse the internet safely, back up your computer files, send emails and stay safe from viruses and online scams. We also teach you how to produce professional looking written documents, make the most of spreadsheets, and give business presentations using a computer.
So when your boss casually asks you to ‘ping over that document as an email attachment’, you’ll feel confident you can do it right away
How can we do it?
As usual when you begin a learndirect course, we’ll chat to you to see what you know already, and how much you still need to learn. We’ll then create a learning programme just for you, and help you work towards one of the two IT qualifications we offer.
These qualifications show employers that you are confident using computers, which will dramatically improve your changes of finding a job that not only pays the bills, but that’s fun and challenging too.
